Protecting Biodiversity
Our main inspiration at Lovea is nature!
That's why our pretty blue planet is at the heart of our concerns ♥
OUR PROGRESS APPROACH
We have chosen to manufacture our products in France , using recyclable bottles and tubes and/or those made from recycled plastic .
For all our skincare formulas (with the exception of our lip balms and shampoos), we prefer Vegan ingredients, neither derived from nor produced by animals.
We are committed to limiting our impact on the marine environment. For our suncare products, we have selected filters that have a limited impact on the environment, in compliance with Hawaiian law.
Lovea, Oceania's partner
"INDIVIDUALLY WE ARE A DROP OF WATER, TOGETHER WE ARE AN OCEAN".
Oceania is an environmental association based in Moorea, near Tahiti in French Polynesia, specializing in the study and conservation of cetaceans, particularly humpback whales in the Polynesian sanctuary.
Its activities?
Research, conservation, awareness-raising and training on large cetaceans and the marine environment.
Our partners?
Researchers, local authorities, the Zero Waste Network, fishermen, tourist vessels, local players...
Who will benefit?
Protected whales and cetaceans, Polynesian schoolchildren and the general public.
Lovea has been supporting the OCÉANIA association in French Polynesia since 2019 to preserve marine biodiversity and particularly humpback whales via two projects.
SANCTUARY WATCH
Polynesia's only study program toobserve and warn of whale sightings, to limit the risk of cetaceans colliding with ferries. Young Polynesians (OMMs: Observateurs Mammifères Marins - Marine Mammal Observers) join the boats to monitor the Tahiti-Moorea shipping route. In 2023, 286 potential collisions were avoided out of 954 whales observed between Tahiti and Moorea this season.
PARURU
(meaning "to protect" in Tahitian) The aim of this program is to survey humpback whales. It's the world's largest marine-route effort. Oceania is the 1st association in the world to survey humpback whales in a sanctuary covering more than 5 million km2, and the only one in the Polynesian sanctuary. In 2023, 750 whales were identified in Polynesia thanks to photo-identification.
